Why Spay and Neuter?

Each year, 2.7 million cats and dogs are “put to sleep,” in the United States. It works out to about one put to death every 11 seconds. The shelters haven’t enough room, and the families to which they were born, either had a dog/cat they abandoned, or that animal had unexpected babies.

For this reason, so that no kittens or puppies come into the world unwanted, and wind up being killed, spaying and neutering your pet makes sense. In fact if you care about your fuzzy babies, part of your responsibility to them is to make sure they wont contribute to the problem of overpopulation, resulting in more euthanized animals.

According to this Chart from the Humane Society, one, unspayed female cat can result in over 11 million unwanted offspring in just nine years.
